We had a rough night and Landon screamed at 3:30am and threw up. I emailed his doctor to see what she suggested.
Today was probably the best day Landon, Tessa and I have had together! Landon and I spent time together this morning while Tessa was still sleeping. He talked and cuddled and he was in a great mood. After breakfast he took a great nap in the swing in our room while Tessa and I spent time together in the playroom. Then Landon joined us on his play mat and I propped him up using the Boppy. He is starting to notice toys more and coo.
Landon loves having his diaper changed in Tessa’s room. The minute you lay him down on her changing pad he is all smiles.
I bought Landon a new toy while I was out running errands. It attaches to both the car seat handle and bouncer seat handle which is nice. Landon responded to it right away. He was talking and smiling at it. His medicine seems to be working a little because he has had moments of being happy.
Landon also does a good job of putting himself to sleep in the bouncer/swing. Today he even fell asleep on the play mat. If he didn’t have acid reflux I think he would already be sleep trained because he doesn’t have to held or rocked to fall asleep.
This morning I decided it was time to get back in shape! I going to do Insanity Max 30 every other day but only doing the modified version so less jumping. Landon slept the whole time and Tessa joined James and I. She does some good lunges and burpees.
Then we watched Auntie surf via live feed from Nationals in Georgia. After a few feeds and naps Landon did some tummy time. He loves tummy time and today he spent most of his time sucking his hands.
Ever since last week Landon has been spitting up constantly and occasionally throwing up. I googled what to do and tried holding him after he ate, waiting to do tummy time, and even pumping a little before he nursed to help with my let down. Nothing was helping. He was constantly wiggling, arching his back, making gagging noises, and being generally unhappy. I knew something was up and after doing some research I came to the conclusion he has acid reflux. I messaged his doctor and explained his symptoms. A nurse called me back and said they wanted to schedule him an appointment. Tonight we went to the doctor. I was worried the doctor would dismiss his symptoms luckily he spit up right in the waiting room so I quickly took a picture to show the doctor. I had also taken a video earlier in the day to show her. Once we met with the doctor and I explained what was going on she agreed that he does have acid reflux and prescribed a liquid Zantac for Landon to take twice a day. I gave him a dose once we got to the car. When we came home I put him down to play and he wasn’t whining or unhappy. Then when it came time to nurse he latched on well and didn’t arch his back. It appears that the medicine is already working! I’m looking forward to seeing a change in Landon’s behavior over the next few days. Hopefully we have a happy baby soon! I’m also glad I went with my gut and reached out to his doctor.
Spit up baby (gross I know)
This morning we headed to Carlsbad to meet up with Aunt Pam and Aunt Tina for Landon’s first beach trip. It was a rough start since Landon spit up twice before we even made it to the freeway. Thank goodness he slept the whole way after we cleaned him up. Once we arrived at the beach Landon nursed and then slept most of the time. He woke up for a little bit to play.
Landon had to join me at Sarah’s bridal shower today. He was very well behaved and everyone thought he was so cute. Gigi, Auntie and Tia were there too! Tia is the Maid of Honor so she threw the shower. She did a great job on decor and proved she has a crafty side.
Afterwards we went to Pieology for a late lunch. It was nice to visit with my sisters and mom while Landon slept. When we got home Megan and Aunt Penny came by. This was Megan’s first time meeting Landon. She bought him a cool football toy and a musical caterpillar toy. They also brought over gifts from Fred and Mary Jo. They bought Landon a TON of adorable outfits that I can’t wait to dress him in.
